Maricopa County Department of Transportation awarded a construction contract to
Combs Construction Company, Inc. a few months ago to improve Indian School Road
between Old Litchfield Road and Dysart Road. The existing two-lane roadway will be
upgraded to a five-lane roadway (two travel lanes in each direction with a continuous center left-turn lane) and rubberized asphalt surface, curb, gutter, sidewalk, street lighting and drainage improvements. The project will also include new traffic signals along Indian School Road at Old Litchfield Road and Wigwam Boulevard.

Project completion is slated for July, 2008.

Phase I of the improvements on Wigwam Boulevard (Litchfield Road to Neolin Avenue) is
essentially complete. Some “punch list” items remain to be completed. Phase I included the replacement of sanitary sewer and water lines and the construction of at-grade circle at the intersection of Litchfield Road/Neolin in the form of a “God’s Eye” as recommended by the Cityscape Commission.

We are in the planning phase of Phase II for Wigwam Boulevard (Neolin Avenue to Villa
Nueva Drive) improvements. Our City Engineer is in the process of developing alternatives for construction design for consideration by the Mayor and Council. We are also planning to receive input from the property owners along Wigwam Boulevard. Once a preferred plan is selected, construction could commence in Aprill of 2008.
