Fire & Emergency Services

Overview

Goodyear Fire Department
The City of Goodyear and the City of Litchfield Park entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) for the provision of Fire and Emergency Services on July 1, 2010. On that date, at 8 a.m., the City of Litchfield Park became a member of the Automatic Aid system. All fire and emergency service 9-1-1 calls are routed through the Maricopa Region 9-1-1 Office, which dispatches the nearest fire/emergency unit(s). It is important to note that the Goodyear IGA covers the actual city limits of Litchfield Park—not the entire 85340 ZIP code. Litchfield Park is only 3.3 square miles and the ZIP code encompasses over 48 square miles.

As a result of this IGA, emergency services are now paid through the Litchfield Park General Fund. Litchfield Park residents will no longer pay a fee for fire and emergency services as they did with Rural/Metro. Residents’ fire alarm/monitoring companies should call Goodyear Customer Service at 623-932-2300 to obtain the phone contact number for emergencies. The number will be released only to a monitoring company, not a resident. This is a great example of two communities working together for the betterment of both cities and providing regional service.
