State Law requires cities to have a General Plan. The General Plan identifies the City's goals and designates the proposed general distribution, location and extent of such land uses and other measures to satisfy those goals. The City seeks to maintain, improve and protect the highly desirable physical and social living environment of Litchfield Park.
State Law also requires cities to review their General Plan and either update that Plan or re-adopt the existing Plan and any amendments to that Plan every 10 years. The City's current General Plan was adopted in May 2010. To meet deadline requirements, the current Plan (including all amendments) will be processed for re-adoption prior to the May 2020 deadline. An updated General Plan has been drafted and is being reviewed and processed for possible adoption.
